DAY Collective

Dorota Radzimirska and Yulia Ratman are an artist duo based in Amsterdam who have been working together as DAY Collective since 2017. Their artistic research investigates how consciousness can be accessed through embodied artistic practices, and how art can serve as an affirmative space for connection — with oneself, with others, and with the environment. They approach art-making as a form of ritual. Their practice moves between intuitive solo drawings, collaborative soft sculptures, and participatory performances. These three elements are deeply interconnected and emerge from states of presence, trust, and wordless dialogue.

Dorota and Yulia graduated from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy (VAV – Fine Arts) in 2016. For both artists, it was a second education. Dorota holds an MA in Socio-Cultural Studies (Multicultural Education) from Warsaw University, Poland (2010), and Yulia graduated from the Graphic Design and Illustration Department at the University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield, UK (2011).

Their works have been shown, among others, at the Van Eesteren Museum, Amsterdam (NL); Art Rotterdam (NL); UVA, Brussels (Belgium); Framer Framed, Amsterdam (NL); Lustwarande, Tilburg (NL); Percolate Gallery, Pittsburgh (US); Tropen Museum, Amsterdam; and De Appel, Amsterdam (NL).
