Anne Vannieuwenhuyse

Anne Vannieuwenhuyse is a self-made artist with a pronounced love for art, harmony (feng shui) and the sea. Her background is not classically academic, but she built her artistic language entirely on her own, driven by curiosity and a strong inner urge to create. Her love for the sea started from her childhood through numerous snorkeling vacations and later she also became a PADI master diving instructor. The underwater world serves as a constant source of inspiration for her, not only as an image but as a symbol of beauty, harmony, freedom, silence and depth.



Her work focuses primarily on 3D creations that each carry a story. Each piece is unique and functions as a small universe: layered, colourful and imbued with natural balance. She likes to work with contrasts—light and shadow, rough and refined, organic and geometric—making her art radiate both strength and vulnerability.



Anne is also the mother of Sotiris De Wit, who graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven and runs his own design production company, S.T.R.S., in Rotterdam. In him, she recognizes the same drive and creative vision.

Today, Anne continues to expand her oeuvre with shells from all over the world, each harbouring its own story. She creates from authenticity and intuition, which once started as a hobby, to be able to pass on her love for the sea to the next generations.
